While the recipes are very unique and imaginative, they do not utilize ingredients that are commonly found in the daily routines of cooking. So, pre- planning is called for in your shopping at the supermarket, or if you want to make a special trip to the organic food suppliers at a relatively greater expense.Our biggest objection to this book is that it assumes that you are going to supply yourself with the ancillary hand held slicers, peelers et. al. and it does nothing to describe how one really becomes proficient in their related usage. Some descriptions of the Paderno cutters and their results would be helpful because the single sheet that came with the Spiralizer does not help the first time user either. A reference to such publications could be of great help by having a bibliography or index of what to stock and what to avoid.This is a good case of proving that the old adage " Experience is the best teacher....it gives you the task first and the lesson afterwards" comes into play, and one is left with some misgivings about how often you want to drag the machine out of the cabinet and struggle with its relationship to what part of what recipe it is going to utilize so that a success rate is ongoing. Not everyone is going to have the desire or need to have all the accessory devices that are referenced.

I'm very wary of buying cookbooks without photos for each recipe, but I wanted to check out the spiralizers. I haven't bought the Paderno spiralizer yet (mostly because of price) and was wondering if I should start with a cheapie one.I've just read through the whole book and the recipes are great. Love the curry ones. I'm amazed at suggestions such as processing cauliflower to make "rice" or "couscous" and using broccoli stalks (among many other veggie options) to make "pasta."The author's tips and comments are very helpful. She talks about Paleo, sodium, weight loss.Unlike another kindle cookbook I have, the page/recipe divisions aren't too bad. I was looking on an iPhone 6+. I'm sure it will be better on my iPad.

I recently bought the Paderno Spiralizer and have been looking for some recipe books to help me really use my new kitchen "toy" rather than just stow it away. I have found quite a few great and affordable books for my Kindle and this is definitely one of them! So many wonderful recipes and filled with lots of info to help me know what vegetables give the best results. There is a chapter for Gluten-Free and another for Paleo. Since I bought the spiralizer in hopes of losing some weight I was pleased to see a chapter with weight loss recipes. I am famous for buying gadgets and using them to collect dust, *smile* but I have to say we have tried three of the recipes already and LOVED them! I find it so wonderful to be able to have the recipe available on my Kindle and to bookmark the recipes we like so that they will be enjoyed again. I've tried almost every veggie and dish combo, and everything comes out great. Originally I was looking to buy the Spiralizer, but it was on backorder. So got this instead. I may have liked the anchoring method better on that one, as the rubber sections on this one are sometimes hard to lift up if your hands are wet or oily from cooking. But the blades seem to work the same from what I see watching the Inspiralize videos, which is what motivated me to get a machine in the first place. Very easy to clean.

I have been cooking for over 60 years and the simple tips and recipe ideas (I never actually follow a recipe) in this book made a very positive change in our meals. After 49 years of marriage things can get a bit "stale" and being able to add freshly sliced and crispy things to our meals (for 2) without dragging out the heavy duty stuff is great. Spiralized red onion goes in a zip lock bag and keeps well for a few days and adds so much to a sandwich, salad, soup, omlet or stir fry. Thanks for the extra tips.

These recipes are good. They are weight loss friendly and work well with the Paderno Vegetable Slicer. I gave this a four star because the recipes are straight forward and nutritionally sound, but there isn't any nutritional information with each recipe. Yes, I can figure it out, but nutritional information seems to be standard with most cookbooks.

I was somewhat disappointed that this book isn't just for the Paderno Spiralizer shown on the cover. The first tool mentioned is a very different hand-held gadget. There are probably some good recipes, but I can't give this a very good rating. Save your money.

I recently purchased the 4 blade Paderno Spiralizer. Then, as you know, we need recipes to go with our great machine. Enter this book. Lots of recipes and tips. I look forward to lots of good healthy meals from this machine and book.

Looks like a print off from a computer in black and white ~ could have been done better and color would be more appealing. She also doesn’t mention the amount of yarn and weight needed for the patterns. How are you supposed to know what you need? She just mentions type, color, and hook size.

I borrowed this book using Kindle Unlimited. While many of the designs are very cute, for the jewelry at least, the directions are incomplete or imprecise. The lists of materials are imprecise. The materials list for the heart earrings says "ear wires" while the picture clearly shows earring posts were used. The pictures show earrings with beads, but the materials needed lists do not list beads of any kind, nor do the directions indicate how many beads to string onto the thread, or when to bring up a bead. I am not very experienced in crocheting with beads, but I like the earrings as shown, beads and all, so would like directions that include how to add the beads in the correct places. This book did not meet my expectations that the directions to help me to produce a finished project that looks like the item pictured, not a watered down version that will look differently. I liked the designs, so gave the book 2 stars. I am glad I did not spend money to get this book, as I found it very frustrating to find the directions did not always exactly match the finished products shown in the photos.

From the beginning of the book where it took place in the time 1947, I was hooked. Terry James has weaved a story that is biblical, based on some truths but still an all around good story. A scroll was found in Qumron near the Dead Sea, and some characters began to speak unknown language as they gazed into the sky only to see UFOs. The thing is, the creatures make people think they are aliens, I guess the world feels better knowing there are aliens instead of spiritual forces...The reason the book did not receive all five stars, is because of the weightiness of the technical terms: If you are not into military tactics being talked about a full page, airplanes, and other details that seem kind of minor(in my opinion) the book would be great, excellent even, but those parts slowed me down.Will I read part 2? Sure I will! The series seem exciting enough.

This book was o.k. It was NOT a thriller. No matter what situation or danger our heroes find themselves, they more or less just sit back and God do his thing. Really, the heroes of the book are more like 'on-lookers' as they really don't do anything heroic or adventuresome. No matter the danger they find themselves in, they do absolutely nothing and let the angels of God come and save the day. As a Christian, I have no problems with the issues of faith used in the book. But in the context of a "thriller" type novel, there is absolutely no suspense because the characters are never in any real danger. They keep reminding themselves throughout the book that "God brought us this far, whater happens, He will protect us". It doesn't make for much excitement.

Hmmmm. The author's first (I think?) Christian novel. Cover endorsements by Tim LaHaye AND Chuck Missler! Published in March of 2006, in less than six months it has 87 reviews on Amazon averaging 5 stars!! Did Terry hit a home run his first time out or what? Wow!!! Being a devoted student of Bible prophecy and having much more than a passing interest in UFOs, "aliens", nephilim, bene elohim, etc, etc., this was a must read for me. And Terry's tale did not disappoint. It reads like it came from the pen of a seasoned author, very well crafted narrative, with a can't-put-it-down hook that grabs you in the beginning and doesn't let get go until the final line. As the Bard said, "there are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy. Terry pulls back the curtain for a glimpse of the titanic battle between the forces of light and darkness that will ultimately decide the fate of planet earth in these last days as it approaches its final, prophesied appointment with destiny. Better order your copy today because the time really is getting short!

It started a little slow, but had a really good ending. I have enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next one.

If you've read the "Nephilim Imperatives" by the same author then you've read "The Rapture Dialogues: DARK DIMENSION", both by Terry James. Unfortunately I read the "Nephilim Imperatives" first several years ago so when I started reading "Rapture Dialogues" I got confused thinking I had already read this book and checked my bookshelf to see if I had previously purchased and read this book. Then I looked at the cast of characters in the "Nephilim Imperatives", and sure enough, it was the same family of characters, second generation, in basically the same story.This book should be advertised as the sequel to the "Nephilim Imperatives". Leaves much to be desired from this author.

This book takes off very subtly and innocent and before you know it the author has taken the reader on a very bold adventure with many twists and turns. Taking some complicated subject matter and making it very easy for the reader to digest and stay along for the ride!One of those books you think you have it all figured out by the title and presupposed ideas only to be corrected.Buy two and give one to your local Library.

Was a little confusing at time trying to keep up with the characters at first, but then it all fell into place. I would definitely recommend this book. It’s a good story.

I own and have read a pre-release copy of this book. It is a thrilling read, with spiritual overtones that are chilling, and rarely presented. It reads like the best of thrillers - enough twists and turns to suit every reader. I am anxiously awaiting the next installment, though this one has not been officially released yet. For an eye-opening, pulse pounding look into the future, I highly recommend this book.

The copy that I received was REALLY not a good quality. I wasn't expecting glossy photos because I bought a more affordable version, but I didn't think that the pictures would look streaked and washed out like the printer was running out of toner!

I bought this to replace my old copy I had misplaced over the years. This is a print on demand edition (something I was not aware of when I bought it). While print on demand is acceptable for text-works, for a book of photography the quality suffers profoundly.Highly noticeable moire, a lack of contrast, poor quality paper does not do justice to Weegee's work.

As others have mentioned, the photo quality in this book is awful. I wondered how bad it could really be when I saw the other Amazon reviews, and let's just say the reviewers were not exaggerating. I see that a hardcover is being reprinted in a few months--if you're dying to see some Weegee, it'd probably would be worth it check out his photos online until the hardback comes out, then cough up the extra dough.

My fault for not reading the reviews. The quality of this book is very poor. Not only are all the photos reproductions, so is the text and it looks as if somebody started with the real book and photocopied the whole thing. Very disappointed. Probably going to return this.I can't fault the content - text or photos - but it does not do justice to this great photographer.

O god do not touch this one with a ten-foot pole. A purported book of photographs with ABSOLUTELY NO CONSIDERATION given to the reproduction of said photos. They literally look like mimeograph. I'm sending mine back. I'm so disgusted.

I immediately realized that I could improve many of these photos by scanning them into iPhoto and tweaking a little. I just didn't think that should be up to me. Surely, Weegee's work was better than this.

OK, I've learned my lesson. With so many negative reviews, everyone can't be wrong. I have purchased literally hundreds of books from Amazon, and I like Amazon very much, but this was the worst piece of @#$%$#!! book I have ever purchased from them. How dare they charge $17.50 for this amateurish reprint! I knew it was a print on demand book (the date I ordered it is printed on the back page) but I didn't think it would look like it was printed on a Xerox machine from the '70's that was running out of toner!! The photos are washed out and undiscernable. I'm hoping I can find a beat up copy of the original somewhere. I really would love to have this book. Oh, and BTW, shame on Da Capo Press!!. I own many of their wonderful reprint books on music. My respect for them as a publisher has dropped 80 points!

I am a an R3 plastic surgery resident in an integrated program, and I bought this book because we have monthly oral boards reviews and I wanted something to help prepare me for those monthly experiences, and get myself ready for the oral boards exam at the end of residency. These cases represent the "bread and butter" of plastic surgery and give a framework for how to approach these topics when they come up in an oral boards case, but are not exceptionally detailed and probably would not be great for use as a study guide for the InService exam or any written test or for case preparation.The cases are presented in picture format with a few lines of text giving basic information about mechanism of injury or patient concern and basic demographics. The next 1-2 pages goes over a description of the problem, how to work-up the patient (history and physical exam pearls), the basic tenets of treatment, details about surgical techniques, classification schemes (if applicable), possible complications, and what are called "critical errors" or things an oral boards examiner would fail you for.I use this as a means to quiz myself (I go through the steps before turning to the answer page), and I use it in my study group to quiz my fellow residents. After reading this book I no longer feel like an idiot when I get up in front of my program for my monthly grilling, and I get much better reviews. I think this will help a lot with oral boards preparation.
