I love that all of the recipes for Cocoa are all in one place. Everything from how to make the cocoa, toppings, to all the different versions floating around out there. I can't wait to make Frozen Hot Cocoa! Yes, it is included!
There are many ingredients that I never knew could make hot chocolate. Maple and honey syrup for two ingredients. They even added different flavors or tea bags, peppermint tea bags which sounded pretty good. Hot chocolate with booze. Crock pot hot chocolate, white chocolate variations, and flavored whipping cream.Some of the recipes were Spicy Hot Chocolate Mocha and Red Wine Hot Chocolate. There are just so very many ways to flavor this drink and good taste is super.I received this book from a website for an honest review.
I never knew there were 120 ways to make Hot Chocolate until I bought this book, but to be fair, some of the recipes are very similar to others in the book. A passing eye could easily think that there are duplicate recipes. All in all, I probably wouldn't make all 120, but there are quite a few that looked to be very nice, the thick Italian versions in particular.I would like to pose one question, however. There is a chapter devoted solely to recipes made in the Slow Cooker/Crock Pot. Who on earth would want to spend two hours making hot chocolate in the slow cooker? Normal hot chocolate isn't difficult and time consuming as it is!
The way the ingredients are all over the place, I have a hard time believing the recipes weren't gleaned from various blogs and websites. Some recipes look as if they might be much too sweet. But the ingredients are easy to find, and there are ideas for combinations to try.
Delicious, creamy recipes. I can't wait to try them all! I wish this had more artwork/pictures/illustrations.
As strange as it may seem, there really are multiple ways to make a cup of hot chocolate. From sweet to a little spicy, this books at least touches on the major points.
If you don't like hot chocolate don't read this book. If you love it like I do you will find some good suggestions for different varieties. Drink up!
I love hot chocolate! I cannot wait to make these recipes for me and my daughter! Many are so simple that she can even make them!
