You will finish the story before you finish the coffee.Candace is a short examination of a search for equality between the sexes as it is played out in a restaurant between Candace and Patrick. They were on a blind date which Patrick had rescheduled twice but only out of consideration for Candace. This is explained in the longest sentence I have ever read in a short story:“Because between the half bottle of wine and the way he was looking at her, and the surprise that still lingered from the moment she’d walked in, having made a more-than-lip-gloss-but-less-than-leg-shaving effort toward the blind date, which she’d agreed to, after he’d rescheduled twice, only because the restaurant he’d suggested had a salmon preparation she particularly liked, and found him reading the New Yorker, which was as contradictory to the expectations she’d set based on the sharp suit and look of disdain in his LinkedIn profile picture as the conversation he’d immediately begun—about the implications of want and need being the same word in Arabic, which he’d just read about in the magazine’s review of Lawrence Faber’s new film—she’d lost track of what she was going to say.” (Kindle locations 15-18).The above quote is from Candace’s first serious examination of Patrick as a possibility for future, closer relationships. Patrick knows all the right things to say. He pushes all the emotional buttons. And then …It is time to pay the bill. The results are surprising with a perfect twist at the end. This is good value as a five Amazon star Kindle Unlimited read. I would even pay to read this (if I had to).

It's like 14 pages and pointless and if the man wants to split the bill ok just don't go home with him no women pulls out this spreadsheet about women's rights and how women are overcharged and men should pay. What the hell

The story was initially well written and had interesting characters. However, the spreadsheet the main character used to chastise her date was ridiculous and ruined the story for me. The idea that a man should be shamed because women decide to buy a bunch of stuff that men don’t generally care about, is not something that should be celebrated as a win for feminism.

I didn't love this short story. There is a huge run in sentence a paragraph long in the beginning that was so hard to follow. The ending, with the cost break down seemed a tad ridiculous and unrealistic to me.

Reviewers are giving away the whole (very short) story in single-sentence critiques here. For shame! Well, no spoilers from me. I thought this was a great little story, a snapshot of a date-in-progress that is going rather well. It had intriguing enough characters that it could be the first chapter of a novel. (I really AM curious to see where this date is going!) But my big complaint is not being able to read a rather key document to the "plot" on my KIndle, no matter how much I fiddled with the font size or page orientation. Since this story is offered ONLY for e-reading, this seems a significant oversight ... or perhaps intended? ... if so, rather cruel. It is clear what the gist of the document is, but it would be very interesting to actually be able to read it. (On the other hand, no one else has mentioned this, so maybe it is just me and my indisputable non-techiness.)

I found this to be so very positive, and can truly see myself changing my thought process. But for me my mouth does get me into trouble with others as I am a realist and speak my mind good, bad or indifferent, but I stand up for others which causes problems with others (who are suppose to be Catholics, and speak negatively about others, so my mouth has gotten me into trouble). After reading this book, I can change myself to be more positive about myself, while continuing to help others.

This book was a great little read with Scripture and life examples. I learned that words are powerful and they are like seeds. Our words produce fruit and that fruit can be negative or positive. You will also learn how to override your negative thoughts through speaking positive words in spite of the negative thoughts. Our words produce fruit so what fruit is your tongue producing?

This short book packs a powerful message that can really change your life. He talks about the power of our words and how they effectively help or hinder our progress to our chosen goal. If you continually talk in the negative it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. I recommend reading this book.

This little book is loaded with biblical and practical wisdom on the power of our words. But before I continue my review, I want to pause and say thank you Reverend J. Martin for writing this book. For the past year, l have been on a journey discovering how negative thoughts and words affect the function of the brain which then effects the body. Your book has encouraged and inspired me to continue being mindful of what I say to and about myself as well as others. Wow! Positive or negative words spoken on a regular basis has the power to change the trajectory of one's life. If everyone understood how important it is to speak words that bring life instead of death, marriages, relationship, our souls and bodies could begin to heal and give Glory to God!!

The book changed my entire way of thinking and talking. Excellent content. It focused on the message of the Bible of how important our words are to ourselves and those around us.The only problem was poor grammar in a few places.

A great book on using your words wisely as your words you have used in past leads up to where you are today. The words you use today will shape your future. One thing I GLEANED from this book was that instead of using your words to DESCRIBE a bad situation, instead use your words to CHANGE the situation. I would recommend to others.

Wouldn't recommend.--They need to be much clearer about the specific differences between the editions and what each includes so you don't end up having to buy editions that won't help you.-- The website reference that comes with the Deluxe edition is completely Archaic and poorly organized.--The search feature on the website that comes with the deluxe only allows for information on people seeking POETRY submissions. And another 50 recent publishers etc are listed but also poorly organized and not searchable.-- Regarding the guide itself, they should call it the Magazine, Trade Journal, and Contest, Writer's Market Edition so if that is what you are looking for you know this is the right edition to buy.--ONLY ABOUT 51 PAGES OF AGENT LISTINGS out of the 888 pages.--386 pages taken up by listings for Magazines and Trade Journals. 132 pages of contests and awards. Another 44 of glossary and Index. Approx 107 pages at the beginning of advice you can find by doing a quick google search. That takes about 669 pages of the 888. About *75%*--144 of publisher listings.-- They need to be much clearer about what types of agents and publisher listings, not just *how many* listings, comes with the website membership and in the guide. There are just so very many ways to flavor this drink and good taste is super.I received this book from a website for an honest review.

I never knew there were 120 ways to make Hot Chocolate until I bought this book, but to be fair, some of the recipes are very similar to others in the book. A passing eye could easily think that there are duplicate recipes. All in all, I probably wouldn't make all 120, but there are quite a few that looked to be very nice, the thick Italian versions in particular.I would like to pose one question, however. There is a chapter devoted solely to recipes made in the Slow Cooker/Crock Pot. Who on earth would want to spend two hours making hot chocolate in the slow cooker? Normal hot chocolate isn't difficult and time consuming as it is!

The way the ingredients are all over the place, I have a hard time believing the recipes weren't gleaned from various blogs and websites. Some recipes look as if they might be much too sweet. But the ingredients are easy to find, and there are ideas for combinations to try.

Delicious, creamy recipes. I can't wait to try them all! I wish this had more artwork/pictures/illustrations.

As strange as it may seem, there really are multiple ways to make a cup of hot chocolate. From sweet to a little spicy, this books at least touches on the major points.

If you don't like hot chocolate don't read this book. If you love it like I do you will find some good suggestions for different varieties. Drink up!

Golden Chains picks up from the shocking ending from book one. One thing though, don't count Etta out. She is tough and will find a way to persevere.I loved this installment. Any lingering questions I had from book one gets answered as the author delved deeper into the explanation behind the curse. And emotions? My emotions were all over the place with this book. I pitied, hated, and loved Alex. How is that even possible? I even loved and hated Etta. Their story is twisted and certainly not an easy one clear up to the end of this book. Oh, that ending!M. Lynn has created a fantastic world which leaves me drooling for book 3! I'm glad the wait isn't long.

I like how the fairy tail story come through a little. The character development took a left turn and I love it. Although expected, just not how it turned out. I really like how when every action is taken, its more of a real world reaction. Not fake. This book take you through the war that this series has lead up to so far. But is this the war they all feared. Or is there more.. This series is worth the quick read for me. Makes me shut down and relax. So thank you. -novelnerdmaggie

I chose five stars because I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure and it's cast of characters. It was fast paced, it has a great plot, and plenty of surprises! If you're a fan of fantasy I highly recommend this series of books.

The whole series I have not been able to put down. Great read

I will be honest, I wasn't even sure I wanted to read this book after the first one. And I didn't make it more than halfway through. The characters are inconsistent and on top of that, not terribly bright. How does she forget she's cursed all the time? And one second, they hate each other and the next they are trusting each other again. The king is weak willed and wishy washy and we just know she loves him for the boy he was even though she supposedly hates every decision he has ever made as a man. It doesn't make sense. We are constantly told the same information over and over again as if we didn't read it the first time. The secondary characters have bizarre motivations and switch sides a lot too. At first I thought the author might be able to handle spinning all these people together and include some actual intrigue but nothing really happened that made sense. Not a great book.

Golden Chains was just as good as the first book! Readers finally get to meet La Dame and she is just as terrifying as I imagined that she would be. She is cruel and ruthless. I loved to hate her! I found that I was confused by her motivations by the end of the book though so I am hoping that my questions about that are answered in the third book.I loved Etta! She was just as fierce as she was in Golden Curse but there was more vulnerability to her because of the situations that she finds herself in. When we left her in the first book, she was being brought before the king and things go downhill from there. My favorite part of the book was the beginning because we get to see her go through terrible things and come out the other side. She is beginning to realize who she is and what is needed from her because of the curse and the magic that she possesses. It was amazing to see her journey continue with new characters being introduced and having to battle for those she cares for again.

A lot of people had adviced me to read it while being on the Island.The story is shocking, and it tells us about the mistake big powers committed on Cyprus. How they misled the Cypriot people, who fought for the enosis to Greece, just to receive a sham and limited "independence".The book unveils the mismanagement of the british government on Cyprus, since PM Anthony Eden's policies to encourage turkish claims just to weaken the greek stance.

I couldn't find any history of the island, so I bought this product. It is a page turner, and I believe it is the truth, in spite of the nay sayers in some of the reviews - because it makes logical sense all the way through. It is a great work and should be read by any visitor to the island

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I've never really read anything else on documentaries, but this book gives a really great outline of the main points of discussion and breaks them down with solid examples from documentaries though out the last century. I got this for a class and have read it all this summer before the class starts and unlike some other class's textbooks, this book actually seemed comprehensive without needing additional clarification from the professor. Also, the book I received was in great condition :)
